The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) offer fully-funded Master’s scholarships to Commonwealth citizens. Successful applicants can travel to a different country in the Commonwealth, where they can study a variety of courses and benefit from the expertise provided by leading universities. Developing new skills, gaining a qualification and experiencing life in another country benefits both the individual and their home country. 12 fully funded Master’s scholarships are available, hosted by member institutions in nine countries across the Commonwealth including: Bangladesh, Eswatini, Ghana, Kenya, Malaysia, Mauritius, Pakistan, Rwanda, Tanzania, and the West Indies (Barbados, Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago). The National Tuition Assistance Scholarship, formerly known as the National Grant, is awarded to Bahamian students and is intended to assist high school graduates or persons who are currently pursuing professional, technical, graduate or post graduate degree studies. Award recipients are selected on the basis of academic success at the high school or college level. High school graduates must possess a GPA of 3.0 or above and a minimum of five (5) BGCSEs with a grade of “C” or higher. Those currently in college must possess a GPA of 3.0 or above. This grant has a maximum value of $7,500.00 per annum at internationally accredited institutions, colleges and universities, $4,000.00 for local institutions and approved online degree programmes, and is renewable for up to four (4) years of study at accredited local and international universities, colleges, and technical and vocational institutions. Successful candidates must pursue a course of study that meets with national development goals at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
